Educos has chosen the Bee as our corporate symbol. While adding an element of fun, the bee has admirable characteristics from which we draw valuable lessons.

They are social insects and are successful because the behavior of each bee is In concert with the others for the benefit of the group. This teaches us to be a team with utmost respect for one another and  each other's individual talents.

The bee is more honoured than any other animal , not because it labours,  but because it labours for others. This underpins our drive to respect Mother Earth and all her creatures which is why we initiated, and why we are so passionate about, our '4P' initiative: People, Planet, Pets, and Poaching.

The Educos team are a group of passionate and motivated bees. We are very involved in giving back as making a difference in our world is extremely important to us.

The 2010 awards ceremony saw Educos win the Gold Medium Business of the Year award, and our very own Liz Bath (MD-Educos) walked away with the prestigious Silver Lady ROCCI  Business Woman of the year award. Educos was also presented with the Business Community Support Award showing that Educos' 4P initiative really is making a difference.

The 2011 Gala Awards Function was held at Silverstar Casino on Saturday the 5th of November, and Educos did it again taking home the Silver Large Business of the Year Award; the Business Community Support Award; and a massive congratulations to Liz Bath on winning the Silver ROCCI Business Woman of the year award for the secnd year in a row. These incredible achievements are as a result of the talent, dedication and hard work of each and every Bee in the Educos Hive, lead by the passionate and  inspirational Queen Bee, Liz.

CONGRATULATIONS EDUCOS!

Deloitte won three awards namely Best HR Strategy Firm, Best Change Management Services Firm, and Best HR Technology Firm.

The Best HR Technology Firm award is for the EducosVision project at Cetrel. This prestigious Award recognises Vision as a technologically advanced and world-class product. Some of the competitors for this award included SAP and HR Access.

Congratulations on this remarkable achievement in the international arena.

CONGRATULATIONS EDUCOS!

The focus of our presentation was on how we have developed in the last year. The 4 P's made a guest appearance during the presentation. These P's are as follows:

• People ("School girlie" Jo, aka J&B.)
• Pets (Wagging tail" Jonno, aka VitaminB)
• Planet ("Rustle those leaves" Nats, aka DesignaB)
• Poaching ("The Easter Rhino" Barry, aka BeerB)

Once again, the judges were impressed with Liz's presentation as well as the Four P-Bees. Now we just have to wait to see if we are one of the finalists!

In true Educos tradition, Spring Day was a day of dressing up, festivities and fun! The theme was Trailer trash and what a load of trash we were.

For the brave, a spot of last minute shopping at Fruit and Veg City, and Trade Centre provided much entertainment for the staff and fellow shoppers. After taking a few photos in store we made our way back to the office for the festivities!

The following prizes were awarded.  The Jerry Springer prize for marrying your mother. Amy Winehouse prizes for the person mostly likely to over imbibe in alcoholic beverages before 9am. Britany Spears prize was awarded to the expecting mothers in the trailer park. The Linsay Lohan prizes was given for all of the above. Prizes for Mr and Mrs Trailer Trash went to the following local residents of the trailer park.

Thanks go to everyone who dressed up for the spring celebration and made the day!

There were people of all shapes and sizes, with prams, dogs etc. The dogs were the cutest things ever and there were special doggy points for them with umbrellas, water bowls, food and sandpits with toys!!

It was very difficult to stay in a group as the roads were wall-to-wall people and they moved at a pace that was just too slow (even for Liz on crutches!) We tended to break into smaller clusters and chatted to different people at different times along the way. It turned out to be a lot harder to stay together than many of us thought nevertheless, the dogs seemed to have unending energy and could literally have done a few laps. It was an awesome way to get out and do something different on a Sunday. It also gives one a good feeling knowing that it was for charity and done in the name of fun!!!

The doggies all got rosettes which they wore so proudly at the end. Afterwards some of us went to Greenside and had a lazy afternoon of pizza, good company and good wine.

Our first priority is to paint the animal enclosures which is an ongoing project.

The ROCCI (Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry) business of the Year gala event took place on 7 November at Silverstar Casino. With 23 years of unsurpassed growth, the award ceremony has become a well respected and much anticipated event in the area. The main purpose of the awards is to recognise and honour businesses whose hard work and innovation have created successful business ventures. The panel of judges scrutinised each nominee's business principles, future in the industry, market place, leadership qualities and community support.

In the category of Medium Business of the Year, Educos Vision was awarded first place. Congratulations to all the Bees at Educos for their hard work and dedication.  Liz Bath was also awarded first place as Business Women of the year!! (Contagrats to Liz!!!)

The Awards Ceremony provided the culmination of an exciting and dynamic year at Educos with streamlining of business, new employees and expansion (Training, Outsourcing).
