The Vision Development manager
provides the environment in which to analyse, design and evaluate
jobs and to monitor and control the career development of employees
in order that they may achieve both their own personal goals and
those of the organisation. The job profiles form a basis for
selection of employees whether external recruitment, internal
promotions, transfers or succession planning.
Job/Position Analysis
Through the process of Job / Position Analysis a Master Profile
is created which provides a detailed job description and job
specification for each Job (or Position) within the organisation.
The information is categorised according to the following
dimensions: Duties, Responsibilities, Skills, Competencies,
Knowledge, Abilities and Personality.
Employee Profiling
Using the same dimensions of Skills, Competencies, Knowledge,
Abilities and Personality, an Individual Profile can be created for
each employee. By comparing an employee's Individual Profile
with the Master Profile for a particular Job, skills gaps and
development needs may be identified and development plans
created.
Career & Succession Management
This module provides the facility to define Master Career Paths
for every Job within the organisation, and to use these as the
basis for creating a range of Individual Career Paths for each
employee. An employee's personal Career Aspirations may also
be recorded, and an Action Plan created to monitor
achievement against set objectives.
For each key position within the organisation a Candidate List
containing the names of potential successors for that position may
be created and maintained. The performance and career
progression of each one of these candidates can then be tracked and
monitored by comparing their Individual Profiles with the
relevant
Master Profile of the required position.
