The
Employment Equity Act focuses essentially on discrimination, past
and present. Its stated objectives include the elimination of
employment discrimination, ensuring employment equity to redress
the effects of discrimination and to achieve a representative
workforce. The Act contains two parts. The first concerns
prohibition of discrimination and the second concerns affirmative
action and the ways in which it is to be implemented and enforced
in practice.
An employee, for the purposes of the Act, includes an applicant
for employment. The part relating to affirmative action only
applies to designated employers, which are all employers of 50 or
more employees, or an employer of fewer employees but with more
than a stated annual turnover, depending on the sector.
Vision Employment Equity Manager provides management with a
powerful tool to interrogate information, analyse and display it in
graphical or tabular format.
Audit Analysis
Vision Employment Equity Manager provides the infrastructure to
record details about employees in order to supply the demographic,
remuneration and development breakdown required. This information
may be captured and maintained in Vision or an interface from an
existing personnel system may be set up.
Equity Plan
An equity plan may be defined for any period required. This may
be targeted headcount, training costs, training headcount,
salaries, mentorship programs, bursaries granted etc.
As with any forecasts, there are two methods that may be
used:
- Forecasts based on the past with correlation analysis to draw
relationships between relevant information
- Forecasts based on statistical formulae which may be quantitive
or qualitive
Vision provides the environment to support any of these methods
that you may require.
Reports
Vision Employment Equity Manager provides you with standard
reports for submission of the EEA2 and EEA4 reports in the format
required by the Department of Labour. As legislative requirements
change, we will ensure that your system complies and incorporates
these changes.
Other reports and graphs may also be extracted for easy analysis
of EE status and trends.
